Welcome to the website of the Hong Kong Scottish Piping and Drumming Association. I must stress that this organisation is not trying to be a self-selected governing body for bagpiping in Hong Kong. It is not a new band and does not organise weddings. It is a new organisation, registered as a charity with the appropriate parts of the Hong Kong government, dedicated to raising the status and standard of piping in our city.
Our inaugural concert in October provided an occasion where the bagpipe was recognised as an art instrument, with a musical idiom of its own: a vehicle of self-expression for the skilled performer to be played for attentive audiences in formal surroundings. There are plenty of other things we need to work on. Many of them are explained in more detail in this website.
We shall continue to work to help pipers and drummers in Hong Kong to reach higher standards, as soloists and in bands. If you would like to support or participate in this work in any way I hope you will not hesitate to get in touch. Our email address is admin@hkspda.org .

歡迎瀏覽香港蘇格蘭風笛鼓樂總會的網站。我在此強調，總會沒有打算無遂自薦，成為本港風笛界的管理機構。我們不是一隊新樂隊，也不會在婚宴慶典儀式上提供服務。總會是一個新成立的組織，在特區政府有關部門註冊成一慈善團體，目的是提升風笛及軍鼓音樂的演出水平和社會地位。
我們在十月所舉辦的風笛演奏會，首次提供了一個正規的音樂會，在演奏廳的環境，確立風笛有其獨特語言，是一件可供技術爐火純青的演奏家，通過這件樂器抒發個人的感情，從而演繹風笛的藝術。
